The newest versions of the files will always be in the links of the table below. Each version will have a unique name, so you won’t clobber your existing files if you’ve added comments to them. (You can download older versions here. )
If you want to download the font so you can practice, perhaps by doing a chart-along in your own word processor, use the link in the menu above. You can also go to the font page to get more information.
Don’t Freak Out!
Until I’m sure about the content, and therefore the chapter numbers, the filenames along with any chapter numbers within the files themselves will have this odd numbering system. Numbering everything this way will allow us to
- keep straight the order the material is meant to be read
- add new chapters between existing chapters without messing up the numbering of the chapters that follow
- talk about “chapter 140” because we know the chapter number won’t change before the book is done
When the book is nearing completion (and that date seems to be receding, not approaching!), I’ll fix them all up like normal.
So yes, chapter 110 is the first numbered chapter (the Introduction isn’t numbered and never will be), and no, there aren’t a hundred nine chapters missing!
The table’s dates are YYYY-MM-DD, so that they will sort chronologically in either direction. To restore book order, simply reload this page.
